We’re walking and working out for wellness
Residents are stepping into better health and wellbeing through a fun and supportive exercise program that combines strength, balance and community spirit.
Led by local Physiotherapist, Bhagya, the regular strength and balance classes are designed to help residents maintain mobility, improve stability and build confidence in their everyday movements. Sessions include gentle strengthening exercises, balance activities and movements that can be adjusted to suit all abilities. Add a dash of fun and friendly competition and the laughter can be heard down the hall.
Physiotherapist, Bhagya, says she enjoys finds fun ways to support residents in maintaining their mobility, independence and overall wellbeing. “Movement keeps the body strong and the mind bright. It’s wonderful seeing them encourage each other and celebrate their achievements as they become stronger and steadier,” she smiles.
For those who prefer fresh air and sunlight, a group of cheerful walkers enjoy strolling around our beautiful community and the gardens, where they get to admire the flowers and catch up on each other’s news.
Manager, Hasika, says the team at The Bays Aged Care recognise the multiple benefits that exercise can bring to a resident’s physical and emotional wellbeing, and plan and promote regular exercise as well as activities that include or encourage movement.
