Delicious and nourishing meals on the menu at The Bays Aged Care
When it comes to mealtimes, there’s plenty of nourishment for The Bays Aged Care residents.
It’s springtime and our new menu provides plenty of choice with meals using this season’s freshest produce.
In the dining room, residents gather to enjoy cosy conversation and favourites such as potato and leek soup, lamb hotpot, roast beef, pear crumble and passionfruit pannacotta.
Menus are prepared on site with input from the residents and reviewed by a dietitian. They change regularly to ensure residents enjoy the best of each season, and there are plenty of choices at every meal to ensure everyone’s needs and tastes are catered for.
Resident, John, says he especially enjoys the regular roast dinners. “They are always nicely cooked with delicious vegetables and lots of gravy,” he says.
Manager, Hasika, says the mealtime moments are just as important as the food. “We like to encourage residents to enjoy their meals and special events together in our welcoming dining rooms. Joy and connection are great for our health too,” she says.
Supporting this, residents recently enjoyed a very special Father’s Day afternoon tea. They gathered for a social afternoon with refreshments and delicious treats. Lifestyle team members, Deb and Wendy say the event was lots of fun. “Residents loved their individual platters. It’s always so nice to celebrate events with yummy food,” Wendy says.
