Connecting through Scouting stories

A shared spirit of friendship and a sense of adventure have been important connectors for residents and the local Scout troop, 1st Hastings.

The troop’s recent visit to The Bays proved there is always something fascinating to learn when bringing different generations together. There was much laughter as they participated in challenge activities before joining in a singalong. Then, splitting into smaller groups, conversations sparked joy and nostalgia as they shared stories and cherished memories. One resident even recalled meeting Lord Baden-Powell, founder of the world Scouting movement, during his visit to Australia many years ago.

For new resident, Janice, this was a heartfelt reunion too. A former district leader, she was delighted to welcome her old troop into her new home.
