An afternoon of fine food and festive cheer
Taking advantage of the cooler weather, residents, families and staff were treated to a very festive Christmas in July celebration recently.
Across the community, the household dining rooms were transformed with special table linen and miniature Christmas trees, soft lighting and linen tablecloths. In the kitchen, new Head Chef David and the Catering Team prepared a delicious traditional three-course lunch. The impressive menu began with a classic prawn cocktail entrée, followed by roast turkey, and ham served with gravy, vegetables and all the trimmings. For dessert, residents could choose between pavlova and plum pudding, or both!
Champagne and other refreshments flowed as residents lingered over their meals and into the afternoon, connecting with other and sharing stories of family Christmases.
For new Chef, David, the celebration was a particularly special milestone. “It was a fantastic first special event to be a part of,” he said. “It was great to see the residents enjoying our specially designed menu, combining nutritious choices with familiar flavours and festive traditions. I’m very passionate about creating delicious dining experiences that bring people together. I’m looking forward to planning and catering many more special events here.”
